MegaBase High-Speed
In-Memory Database Engine

Glendale, California (November 22,
1995) -- TelSoft Solutions, Inc. announced today the release of high speed MegaBase, an in-memory database manager.
MegaBase is a flexible relational, in-memory database management system with special referential-access optimization;
the data is stored only once while repetitive fields are only pointers to the single source of data. Because the
database is maintained in memory, it allows for fast data insertion (hundreds of records per second) and fast scanning
(tens of thousands of records per second).
The MegaBase Database Administration utility allows for starting up and shutting down the database in different
modes, to support different needs and activities. Utility provides for both manual an automatic back-up of the
database to disk.
A database is created and defined using the Database Definition Language and Utility which provide for: defining
a database schema, including table and field typing and sizing. A Data Manipulation Language Interpreter provides
low level access to the data. The system also provides a utility for importing ASCII flat files into the database.
A powerful report generator offers flexibility and is included with MegaBase. The first purchases of MegaBase were
for telecommunications accounting application by an oil company, an auto company and a "Big Three" long
distance provider. |
