Irving, TX (Jan 27, 1996) --NEC
America's Corporate Networks Group announced today the certification of TelSoft Solutions' MegaCall product . Michael
F. Sanson, FUSION Program Manager said, "the MegaCall product provides a wide array of call detail recording,
polling reporting, costing, billing and fraud detection features on NEC's NEAX 2000 Integrated Voice Server (IVS)
and the NEAX 2400 Integrated Communications System (ICS) PBXs." Following the completion of inter-operability
and certification testing in the NEC Computer Integration Laboratory the UNIX micro-computer based MegaCall call
accounting applications were deemed "FUSION Certified" under the provisions of the NEC
FUSION Strategic Alliance Program. TelSoft's DOS based call accounting systems, Standard Business System, Hotel
Billing System, and Shared Tenant Billing System, were also certified.
The MegaCall application allows companies to track telephone activity in medium to large networks including modems,
faxes and Internet lines. Reports on specific phone numbers, usage levels and call frequency provide a basis for
curtailment of excessive use and abuse. Departmental billing reports can interface to the corporate General Ledger
for accuracy in budgeting, enforce usage restrictions and uncover unauthorized long distance calling. MegaCall
also provides the ability to monitor non-performing long distance contracts, incorrect carrier billings, inefficient
use of the telecommunications network and costly hacker toll fraud. Optional modules add corporate billback and
full telephone billing functions for businesses
requiring these features.
The use of a unique "in-memory" database technology allows MegaCall to perform with the speed and power
of a mainframe, while running on an economical microcomputer. Reports which previously took 24 to 36 hours, will
now run in minutes using the MegaCall product.
