MegaPoll is a call record collection system that runs on an SCO UNIX, Intel-based, industry-standard platform.
It is available both as a stand-alone product and for use with the MegaCall product line. The standard system will
support up to 999 sites, and a 9,999 site system is available upon special order.
Poll any combination of PBXs
Polling schedules can be tailored on a site-by-site basis, with the frequency for any given site set by day
and hour, as needed. MegaPoll accommodates any make of PBX or software release version and translates call records
into a UCR™ (Universal Call Record) format. Because of this, all call records, regardless of source, are uniformly
processed. Consistency of hardware and/or software from one site to another is not required since each polled site
can be configured independently, and MegaPoll accepts any combination of PBXs.
Route failures
With disconnections from causes such as line failure, MegaPoll automatically restores the connection and continues
where it left off. MegaPoll handles complete route failures by automatically switching to optional redundant routes,
ensuring that the data is always collected. When modem or buffer settings are "lost" or corrupted, MegaPoll
automatically reprograms the appropriate device. In the event of complete buffer or line failure, MegaPoll automatically
switches to an optional redundant buffer. Even after complete failure, MegaPoll continues to attempt to restore
the connection while generating alarms calling for repairs or human intervention. The moment lines are once again
available, call collection will automatically resume unless the software is operator-disabled.
Diagnostic Polling
MegaPoll has a variety of utilities available that allow the user to:
- View the current polling status at any time
- Manually poll any site at any time
- Perform diagnostic polling
- Stop a site from being polled on a one-time basis without revising the default polling schedule
- View raw call records collected in real time (as they are being collected) or from the archive by site and/or
time collected
